Well and Well Field Design

Proper well and well field design provides a good balance between overall productivity, intra-well field interference effects, transmission infrastructure costs, regulatory restrictions, and long-term regional impacts. Using a wide range of data analysis techniques developed during our long history of groundwater supply development, R.W. Harden & Associates, Inc. specializes in providing well field designs that take advantage of variations in aquifer traits and the unique hydraulic characteristics of individual wells. Using the results of both local-scale analytical models and regional-scale State planning models, our geologists tailor well locations, depths, and production rates to site-specific hydrogeologic and regulatory conditions.

R.W. Harden & Associates, Inc.’s well/well field completion process typically includes an initial modeling and design phase, generation of local conservation district permitting submittals, preparation of technical specifications and contract documents, generation of appropriate TCEQ submittals, contractor bidding and selection assistance, contract administration, and onsite observation during key portions of the well construction and testing process.

Following well field construction, ongoing monitoring of well field and aquifer conditions is critical for ensuring the long-term sustainability of groundwater supplies. R.W. Harden & Associates, Inc. assists clients with development of operations and monitoring systems that allow for proactive maintenance and anticipation of changing aquifer conditions that may affect future production.
